We Tried "BEVERLY" At EPCOT's Club Cool | Day 8 At Walt Disney World
Our 2nd last day at Walt Disney World Found us in Disney's Hollywood Studios building a droid and led us to EPCOT for a sampling of beverages from around the world, some of the best Pizza you'll ever eat and the first couple of cookies at EPCOT's Holiday Cookie Stroll!
Our Final Full Day at Walt Disney World
Droid Building, Galaxy’s Edge Adventures & an EPCOT Food Crawl
It was our last full day at Walt Disney World, and we had a brand new experience to share. So, let’s have a look.
Hey everybody, welcome to the channel. I am Joe, and today we are looking at day eight of our Walt Disney World vacation. This was another two-part day for us, and we had an early reservation that we had to get to.
Seeing as the girls got home late the previous night from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, we let them sleep in while we left early for our reservation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. So, we hopped on the Skyliner from Pop Century and made our way there right away.
Luckily, with early access, we had a little bit of time to kill before our reservation. So hey… why not hop on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance?
In fact, we didn’t just do it once—we did it twice, with a virtual walk-on each time.
Building a Droid at Galaxy’s Edge
When we were done there, we made our way to the Droid Depot where we had a reservation for Reese to build his very own droid. That’s what he chose to do instead of building a lightsaber with Carrie and I.
We have angry, grumpy, sassy, mechanical. This one’s specifically R2-D2. This is Chopper. This one’s more calm. This one sounds adorable. And this is the mouth. Oh, the adorable one. The adorable one.
You need four pieces.
Okay, so first thing we’re going to get is going to be the body. The body is going to be red, white, or black.
“Uh, I’ll take a black one.”
A black. So, I see a black body coming up right now. Go ahead and grab.
Got it. Okay, good job.
Now we’ll go through your legs. Red, white, black.
“Same thing. I want some red this time.”
Red. So, there’s some red legs right there.
Got it. That’s your legs. Great.
Now, the final piece you’re going to need is your wheel and your head. So first we’ll do your wheel.
“Um, the physical.”
The physical wheel. Okay.
Perfect. Now I got to get a head.
“Ooh, nice choice.”
All of your instructions are right here. All you’re going to have to do is follow them step by step.
“What’s our first step?”
“Put the legs in the bottom.”
Cool.
There we go. See the groove and the groove? Match them together on top.
There you go.
Looking good.
Now your other side. Nice.
“Incorporating the three colors.”
All right, I want you to take a good long look at your droid. This is your droid. Do you like how it looks?
“Yes.”
You ready to bring it to life?
“Yep.”
Let’s do it.
Your on/off button is right here. We’re going to turn it on so that we can activate it.
You ready for this?
You’re going to push that big red button. Now you got to tell your friend to wake up.
“Wake up.”
Louder than that.
“Wake up!”
One more.
“Wake up!”
Let’s see…
Oh—it worked. Your droid’s awake.
All right, it’s looking for you. Can you wave?
Well, my friend, congratulations. It looks like your droid has found you, and it’s so excited to see you.
Reese loved his droid. You heard he named it R9 A14, but he also gave it a second name: Shadow.
We drove it around for a bit while we were waiting for the girls to arrive, and while we were doing that, Rey actually walked up to us to ask about our droid. I was very ill-prepared for this moment and didn’t have the camera ready.
That being said, it’s good to experience these things in the moment… even if you’re trying to film everything.
More Star Wars & Hollywood Studios Rides
Finally, the girls arrived at Hollywood Studios and met up with us at Galaxy’s Edge. We celebrated with a ride on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Say what you will about the ride—I know some people have opinions—but I’ve honestly never had a bad experience. Even sitting in the back while someone else’s kid pilots the Falcon, it’s always fun.
And really, just walking up to the Millennium Falcon and stepping inside… that alone is worth it.
Star Wars Breakfast
After that, we grabbed some breakfast, Star Wars style.
We started with blue and green milk, which the kids had never tried before.
Then we moved on to the Ronto Morning Wrap.
Just took a bite of the Ronto Morning Wrap—it’s actually really good. The sausage is nice, not overly salty, with a smoky flavor. The egg, the cheese, the pita… it all comes together really well.
Carrie tried the cold brew black caf with sweet cream cheese and chocolate puffs.
For me, as someone who likes black coffee, this is good. It’s got a dark chocolate flavor. I like it.
Character Meets & Lightning Lane Wins
After breakfast, we headed over to Star Wars Launch Bay for some character greetings.
Then it was time to put our Lightning Lanes to work.
Toy Story Mania had a posted 30-minute wait—we waited five.
Tower of Terror posted 25—we waited four.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster posted 45—we got on in three.
Yeah… that’s about as efficient as it gets.
Park Hop to EPCOT
With that, we wrapped up our time at Hollywood Studios and took the Skyliner over to EPCOT.
And right away… we were feeling snacky.
EPCOT Food Tour Highlights
First stop: fish and chips from the UK Pavilion.
You’re not finding better fish and chips. Period.
Then over to the Mexico pavilion for a holiday kitchen favorite: a tamal topped with mole, queso fresco, crema, onions, and sesame seeds.
After that, we hit the Morocco pavilion for stone-baked bread with three dips.
The hummus was classic and solid. The zhoug had some nice heat, though I’m not big on cilantro. But the third dip? Incredible. Easily one of my favorite snacks of the trip.
We even went back for more.
More EPCOT Adventures
We continued around World Showcase, taking in the incredible detail—especially in Morocco, which is easily one of the most beautiful pavilions in EPCOT.
Then we made our way to France for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
After that, a must-do stop: Club Cool.
Trying drinks from around the world is always a good time… until Beverly enters the chat.
“It’s bad.”
That pretty much sums it up.
Dinner at Via Napoli
For dinner, we headed to the Italy pavilion and sat down at Via Napoli.
Rhys had spaghetti and meatballs (again), I had chicken parmesan (again), and Carrie and Abby split tortellini and a massive margarita pizza.
That dough though… so good.
Ending the Night
We grabbed a post-dinner Lightning Lane for Soarin’, then rode Spaceship Earth before starting the Festival of the Holidays cookie stroll.
The hazelnut linzer cookie was soft, sweet, and balanced with a nice tart jam.
The Snickers doodle? Decent, but really carried by the topping.
And yes… they stamped our passport twice for one cookie.
Scandal.
Wrapping Up the Day
This was a long day, so we headed back to Pop Century to get some rest—and beat the Skyliner crowds after the nighttime spectacular.
But that’s going to do it for this one.
