Last Day Magic: 3 Disney Parks in One!
Today was our FINAL day at Walt Disney World — and we packed in ALL the magic! We kicked things off with favourite attractions at Animal Kingdom, then jumped over to Magic Kingdom for a refreshing Dole Whip and beloved rides. Next up: EPCOT, where we indulged in the Cookie Stroll, tried festive snacks from the festival, and ended the day with our long-standing tradition — dinner at Les Chefs de France — before heading home.
Part 1: Animal Kingdom — Peak Activity
We started the day bright and early at Animal Kingdom to beat the crowds and the heat.
Avatar Flight of Passage: Knocked this out with only a 35-minute wait. Still one of the most immersive experiences on property.
Kilimanjaro Safaris: This is your reminder to go early! We had a 10-minute wait, and because the sun wasn't beating down yet, the animals were incredibly active. We saw almost everything on the Savannah.
Part 2: Magic Kingdom — The Great Dole Whip Debut
Next, we hopped over to Magic Kingdom for a very important mission: the kids' first official Dole Whip.
The Order: We grabbed the original pineapple and the pineapple-coconut twist.
The Verdict: Even if you aren’t a "pineapple person," that coconut twist adds a creamy richness that changes the game. It was a massive hit.
We also took one last spin on the "hearty" attractions: Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. You can't leave the Kingdom without hearing "Yo Ho" one last time.
Part 3: EPCOT — Cookies, Cheese, and "The Search for Beer"
We took the Monorail over to EPCOT to finish our Holiday Cookie Stroll.
The Prize: Instead of just more food, the prize was a DIY gingerbread cookie kit to take home. This is actually a genius move—it lets you bring a piece of the vacation back to your own kitchen when the "post-Disney blues" hit.
The Germany Pitstop: We tried the highly anticipated cheese fondue. Honestly? A bit of a letdown—it was borderline too salty. However, the Bavarian Pretzel saved the day. I asked for the softest one they had, dipped it in spicy mustard, and it was perfection.
The "Beer Flight" Challenge: I went on an epic quest to find a beer flight for Carrie. Success! We tried a dry cider, a very smoky dark lager, and a classic German Schwarzbier.
The Tradition: Les Chefs de France
Since we got married in 2007, we have had our final vacation meal at Les Chefs de France. It’s a tradition we never break.
The Food: The baguette with fleur de sel butter is legendary. I had the Steak Frites with Bearnaise sauce, and I’m not exaggerating when I say they might be the best fries I’ve ever had. Perfectly crunchy, fluffy inside, and a hint of paprika.
Cast Compliment: Our server, Chloe, was incredible. She’s a trained chef and took the time to give Reese a tour of the restaurant's Easter eggs and gave Abby advice on culinary school.
Joe’s Tip: Use the My Disney Experience app to send Cast Compliments! It takes two minutes and really helps these amazing people with their careers.
Final Thoughts: Making the Magic
This trip was years in the making—delayed by pandemics and hurricanes—but it exceeded every bit of the hype. Seeing the magic through the kids' eyes made every cancellation worth the wait.
A huge thanks to:
The Cast Members: Who work tirelessly to keep the magic alive.
Pure Magic Vacations: Especially Carrie, who has helped us navigate every trip since 2015. If you want the stress taken out of your planning, check them out at puremagicvacations.ca.
