A GREAT Day At Magic Kingdom! - Tony's Town Square, Tron: Lightcycle Run

The family is making their way to Magic Kingdom, riding all the classics, from Pirates of the Caribbean to Haunted Mansion and more, followed by a dinner at Tony’s Town Square. After that, the boys headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios while the girls made up their missed attempt at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Back Together at Magic Kingdom

Hey everybody, welcome to the channel. I am Joe, and today we are looking at day seven of our Walt Disney World vacation.

This day was our first day in Magic Kingdom where all four of us were able to go together. If you saw our day two video, you’ll know exactly what the circumstances were and why we had to be separate.

We started out our day of early access in the park with one of Reese’s favorites from day two: TRON Lightcycle Run. And that ride had a posted 50-minute wait time right off the bat.

Users, prepare to be digitized into the world of Tron.

Splitting Up (Strategically)

Next up, the family hit up Space Mountain, which I skipped because it often scrambles my stomach. It was a nice 10-minute wait, though, and while they were doing that, I got some pictures done.

After a couple of rides, we went and grabbed a bite at the Golden Oak Outpost.

Carrie ordered the hot honey chicken with sweet potato fries, and I ordered Tiana’s famous beignets.

The beignet is beautifully light, very pillowy, tons of powdered sugar on there, and just a little bit of the sauce. It’s a fantastic snack just to have a good flavor in your mouth. Not something to fill up on by any means, but a very good use of a snack credit if you're going to be in the area.

Classic Magic Kingdom Attractions

After our bite, we went on some of the all-time classics at Magic Kingdom.

Pirates of the Caribbean had a posted wait of 20 minutes, but it felt closer to 30.

We also went on Haunted Mansion:

Is this haunted room actually stretching, or is it your imagination?
This chamber has no windows and no doors… which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out.
Of course, there’s always my way.

We also went on It’s a Small World during this chunk, but I feel like you can only get so much footage of that. And the family wanted to make it clear that this was done against all of their will… except for mine.

Next, we hit up PhilharMagic, and then one of my favorite queues in all of Magic Kingdom—especially for the kids—Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

One Last Ride Before Dinner

The day was wrapping up pretty quickly because the park was closing for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which Carrie and Abby would be attending.

But we had time for one more attraction before dinner: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, with only a 20-minute wait.

Thank you, party days.

This one is another fantastic queue, with so many details and just story everywhere, including pictures and letters that will absolutely melt your heart if you let them.

And the ride?

That was not bad. That was minimal.

Dinner at Tony’s Town Square

For dinner, we went to a place I never really thought to try… until their brand new garlic bread completely seduced me.

We went to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.

Carrie tried the Peroni Nastro Azzurro European lager. It was light, crisp, refreshing—perfect for a hot day.

Then came the garlic bread.

And yeah… probably some of the best garlic bread we’ve ever had.

It had a good salt to the garlic butter on the focaccia, and the Parmesan fondue you pour over it was just incredible. Honestly, we might need to figure out how to make a Parmesan fondue at home.

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, perfectly baked, roasted garlic… and that cheese fondue was just like pouring melty cheese over top. Absolutely scrumptious.

For the entrees:

  • Abby had the rigatoni alla vodka (one of her favorites)

  • Reese and I had spaghetti and meatballs (because… you kind of have to here, right?)

  • Carrie had the daily fish special with eggplant caponata, shaved fennel salad, citrus vinaigrette, and basil oil

Splitting Up Again: Party vs. Park Hopping

After dinner, it was time to split up.

Carrie and Abby stayed for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and made the most of it—cookie stroll, drinks, Jingle Cruise, nighttime spectacular, and even another ride on Tron.

All without getting a single piece of video.

They’re new to content creation. It’s fine.

Meanwhile, Reese and I headed to Hollywood Studios to knock out a few heavy hitters before the end of the night.

Hollywood Studios Night Run

We started with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

There was a small hiccup—the shuttle simulation portion of the pre-show wasn’t working—so we were diverted straight into the main hangar. Not ideal, but still an incredible experience.

The mission, the chaos, the escape… it all still hits.

After that, we couldn’t leave without one ride on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Because what’s a night at Hollywood Studios without a little controlled freefall?

Wrapping Up Day 7

And that brought us to the end of our seventh—and third last—night at Walt Disney World.

We made our way back to Pop Century. The girls came back later after the party, and I just want to take a moment to thank the cast members and guest services who moved heaven and earth to make sure they were able to make up for what they missed earlier in the trip.

As the one planning everything, there were a lot of moving pieces on our end too—but it was absolutely worth it.

Final Thoughts

That’s going to be it for this one.
