A Chill Day At Walt Disney World | Raglan Road, Woody's Lunch Box & Fantasmic
On Day 6 of our 9-day Disney Vacation, we slowed things down a bit with a leisurely shopping trip around Disney Springs, including a nice lunch at Raglan Road. We followed that up with an evening trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios for some rides and Fantasmic!
We’re at Disney Springs, and we’re having a great time.
A Slower Start to the Day
Hey everybody, welcome to the channel. I am Joe, and today we are on day six of our nine-day Walt Disney World vacation.
We’re starting things off really, really casual… and then we finish the day with a little bit more fun. So let’s get into it.
Off to Disney Springs
First, we made our way from Disney’s Pop Century Resort to Disney Springs, where we started the day with a little light shopping.
Including a stop at a gorgeous little truffle and chocolate shop with a wild variety of flavors. You can actually watch everything being made in real time while you're in the shop.
We grabbed a small pack of truffles to try before making our way to lunch.
Lunch at Raglan Road
We headed to Raglan Road Irish Pub… and this one came with a few surprises.
I tried the Fergal’s Amber Ale. It’s probably my least favorite beer I’ve had so far. A little bitter for my taste. I usually prefer something cleaner and crisper, lighter overall. But it wasn’t bad.
I had the Salmon of Knowledge. The salmon was slightly overcooked, so just a bit dry, but still flavorful. There was something in it that tasted almost like cilantro, which I’m not usually into, but it worked. The chili peppers were very spicy… I only ate one, but it added a really nice kick.
Then I tried the crispy goat cheese salad… and this was easily the best thing I’ve eaten on the entire trip so far.
Pickled carrots, crispy breaded and fried goat cheese, a really nice vinaigrette—it was just incredible. I made sure that was the last flavor in my mouth. I literally chugged my beer just to get back to it.
Because we were at an Irish pub, I had to get the fish and chips.
The cod was incredibly light and flaky. The portion was huge—probably about two-thirds the size of the plate. The chips were thick and good, just a little underdone for my preference. I like them a bit crispier, a little fluffier inside. Still delicious overall.
Also—and I know this is controversial—I’m not a malt vinegar guy. I’m a white vinegar guy. And they had it. So thank you for making that vinegar magic happen.
Then came the Ger’s bread pudding.
And oh my God.
I actually got the recipe from the restaurant. It was that good. I’m not usually a big bread pudding fan—too many cinnamon-heavy desserts—but this one leans vanilla instead of spice.
I was completely full… and still couldn’t stop eating it.
Absolutely phenomenal. Cannot recommend it enough.
Carrie tried the crumble at the knees—an apple and blackberry crumble inside a pastry crust with custard and ice cream.
Very tart, great flavor. The crust was a bit hard to break through, but overall really tasty. Still, if we’re choosing? Bread pudding wins.
And then there was the “Oops, I Dropped My Ice Cream Cone.”
Vanilla ice cream in a bowl with a cone flipped upside down on top, filled with M&M’s. Simple, fun, and honestly pretty good.
Christmas Tree Stroll 2024
Next, we put ourselves to the test with the Christmas Tree Stroll.
Disney Springs has themed trees scattered all over the property, and as you find them, you match stickers on a map. Complete the map, and you get a prize.
The trees were incredible this year.
We saw themes for:
Haunted Mansion
Annual Passholders
The Princess and the Frog
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Wish
Lilo & Stitch
And so many more.
We did get caught in a bit of rain, but Florida being Florida, it passed quickly. We finished the stroll and collected our prize: a small ornament that also unlocked discounts around the park.
Not bad for a scavenger hunt.
Onward to Hollywood Studios
Once we wrapped up at Disney Springs, we made our way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to finish out the day.
First stop: one of our all-time favorites—The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Because in tonight’s episode… you are the star.
Dinner at Woody’s Lunch Box
We kept dinner light and headed into Toy Story Land for Woody’s Lunch Box.
The three-cheese grilled cheese was really solid. Super cheesy, with a nice garlic butter flavor on the bread and a great crunch.
The tater tots were crispy with good seasoning, though they cooled off a bit by the time we got to the table.
The hot cocoa Lunch Box Tart had a nice chocolate flavor and a soft, almost homemade texture.
I had the grown-up lemonade—slightly tart, with a sweet finish. Really enjoyable.
The chili tots were another highlight. Flavorful chili, not overly spiced, and the Fritos on top were a great surprise crunch.
The Lunch Box Tart, though? Not a hit for everyone. A bit too sweet, not enough depth in the pastry.
Slinky Dog After Dark
After dinner, we took a nighttime spin on Slinky Dog Dash.
And at night? That ride just hits different.
Galaxy’s Edge Adventures
For our final attraction of the night, we made our way into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Kylo Ren was out making his presence known, which is always a good sign that things are about to get interesting.
We hopped on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run to close out the ride count for the day.
Fantasmic! to End the Night
And then… the grand finale.
Fantasmic!
Before the show even started, the crowd was all in—waves rolling through the amphitheater, energy building.
And the show?
Still one of the best ways to end a night at Walt Disney World.
Final Thoughts
That was our Day 6.
Not as go-go-go as some of the other days—and honestly, right in the middle of a trip, you kind of need that.
Some people take full resort days. For us, this was our version of that: a relaxed morning, great food, some wandering, and then a strong finish at Hollywood Studios.
We got some amazing nighttime photos with our lightsabers, knocked out a few rides, and capped it all with Fantasmic.
Hard to beat that.
