STAR TOURS Gets An Update For Season of The Force
Disneyland Park is going all out for Season of the Force, coming in April, including a special after-hours event, special fireworks and some pretty cool ride updates. Check it all out here!
Do I like Star Wars? The evidence says yes. Aggressively yes. “Owns art made from the average color of every frame in the original trilogy” yes. “Keeps a Grogu Chia Pet in the box out of fear” yes. “Cries seeing the Millennium Falcon” yes.
And now there’s even more reason for Star Wars fans to start pricing out trips to Disneyland Park because Season of the Force is returning with new entertainment, updated attractions, themed food, exclusive merchandise, and one gigantic upgrade to Star Tours.
Season of the Force Returns April 5
Season of the Force runs from April 5 through June 2 and transforms Disneyland into a full-scale Star Wars celebration. That includes special nighttime events, returning overlays, character appearances, and enough lightsabers to illuminate a small moon.
The headline event is Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, which takes place on select nights from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Guests with tickets can enter as early as 6:00 PM and don’t need a separate park reservation.
The event lineup includes:
Star Wars character encounters
Event-exclusive food and drinks
Limited merchandise
Special photo opportunities
Unique entertainment offerings
A lightsaber instructional experience
The “Fans of the Force” costume cavalcade down Main Street U.S.A.
Basically, imagine Comic-Con collided with Disneyland after midnight and everyone involved yelled “for the Republic” before sprinting toward churros.
Hyperspace Mountain Returns
One of the biggest returning experiences is Hyperspace Mountain, the Star Wars overlay of the classic Space Mountain attraction.
Instead of simply blasting through darkness, riders launch into a full X-wing versus TIE fighter battle through hyperspace. The coaster already moves like your spine owes it money, but the Star Wars effects crank the experience into pure adrenaline opera.
If you’ve never done Hyperspace Mountain, it genuinely feels like an entirely different ride.
Star Tours Gets New Adventures
The biggest long-term addition arrives on April 5 when Star Tours receives new scenes inspired by Disney+ Star Wars series.
Guests may now encounter locations and characters from:
Ahsoka
Andor
The Mandalorian
That means potential appearances from:
Ahsoka Tano
Cassian Andor
Din Djarin
Grogu
With these additions, Star Tours now has 250 possible storyline variations. That ride has quietly become the galaxy’s most chaotic slot machine. Every boarding sequence feels like C-3PO accidentally shuffled the universe.
A Galaxy Expanding Beyond Disneyland
The updated Star Tours experiences will also arrive at:
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Disneyland Paris
So no matter which Disney castle is closest to you, the Force is spreading.
Final Thoughts
Season of the Force looks packed this year, especially for longtime Star Wars fans who grew up riding Star Tours and pretending broomsticks were lightsabers in the backyard.
For me, the Star Tours update is the big one. That attraction has somehow survived decades of changing technology and still feels magical every single time those doors close and Rex, C-3PO, or a random droid starts panicking.
Which part are you most excited for? Hyperspace Mountain? Star Wars Nite? The new Star Tours scenes? Or just buying enough blue milk to financially concern a Jedi Council?
Thanks so much for reading, and until next time… let’s have fun out there.
