Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Returns to Magic Kingdom for 2026

Christmas may still be months away, but Disney is already looking ahead to the most wonderful time of the year.

Disney has officially announced the return of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, bringing back the fan-favorite holiday event for another season of festive entertainment, character meet-and-greets, complimentary treats, and plenty of Christmas magic. For many Walt Disney World fans, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party isn't just another after-hours event. It's the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season, transforming Magic Kingdom into a Christmas card come to life complete with snowfall on Main Street, holiday fireworks, festive overlays, and some of the best seasonal atmosphere you'll find anywhere at Walt Disney World.

The separately ticketed event takes place after regular park hours and offers exclusive entertainment and experiences that aren't available during a normal park day.

Returning favorites include:

  • Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade

  • Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

  • Complimentary cookies and hot cocoa throughout the park

  • Character meet-and-greets featuring Disney characters in holiday attire

    • These include Anna and Elsa, Jack Skellington in Santa garb with Sally and Mickey and Minnie Mouse together.

  • Meet Santa at Storybook Circus at Santa’s Christmas Carnival

  • Special holiday entertainment and seasonal atmosphere

  • Lower wait times for many attractions compared to regular daytime operations

One of the biggest draws continues to be seeing Magic Kingdom fully transformed for the holidays. From the towering Christmas tree on Main Street U.S.A. to the festive decorations throughout the park, there's a reason many Disney fans consider Christmas the most magical season to visit Walt Disney World.

You’ll see seasonal ride rethemes to some of your favourites, like Jungle… sorry… Jingle Cruise, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Mad Tea Party and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, but plenty of other attractions will be available as well, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and so many more.

If you're planning a holiday trip to Walt Disney World this year, it's worth paying attention to ticket sale dates and party schedules as soon as they become available. Historically, some of the most popular dates around Thanksgiving and Christmas tend to disappear quickly.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be happening on the following dates:

  • November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29

  • December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22

These dates are also worth noting because, if you are planning on a Magic Kingdom visit and you aren’t planning on attending the party, the park will be closing early on these days. You can use this to plan a full day at Magic Kingdom without the early closure. If you are attending one of the parties, you can enter the park as early as 4:00pm with a valid party ticket.

Tickets are officially on sale as of July 16, but early access to tickets will be available to guests at select Disney Resorts as well as Disney World Swan and Dolphin, as well as Shades of Green, one week earlier, on July 9.

Is it worth the extra cost? That's always the big question.

For guests primarily interested in rides, the value proposition can vary depending on crowd levels. But for Disney fans who love holiday entertainment, seasonal atmosphere, unique character interactions, and Christmas-themed experiences, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party remains one of the most complete seasonal events Disney offers.

The combination of exclusive entertainment, holiday snacks, festive décor, and the overall atmosphere creates an experience that feels distinctly different from a regular day at Magic Kingdom.

As Disney continues to reveal more details about this year's party, we'll keep you up to date as to what new offerings, characters, entertainment, and holiday treats might be joining the lineup.
