Universal Orlando Is Hosting Movie-Inspired Summer Experiences

From May 23 to August 10, Universal Orlando is inviting guests to take part in some special experiences dedicated to some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters. From new activations to amazing new nighttime entertainment, Universal Studios Florida and their surrounding properties are going to have a lot to offer this summer.

The career of Steven Spielberg, the creator of the summer blockbuster will be celebrated with a limited-time exhibit featuring props and a look behind the scenes from some of the iconic director’s films, including the upcoming Disclosure Day, which is being released on June 12. Spielberg’s original blockbuster, Jaws, will also get an interactive experience that celebrates the film with special photo ops, specialty food and drinks, as well as some park-exclusive merchandise.

Universal Citywalk will feature special screenings of some cinema classics at Universal Cinemark. Between June 20 and August 26, Cinemark will take you back in time with screenings of films like Back to the Future, Jaws, E.T. - The Extra Terrestrial and more. If you haven’t had a chance to see these movies on the big screens, it’s a can’t-miss.

Illumination’s Minions will leave a bigger footprint at Universal Studios Florida with a special activation made for their upcoming film Minions & Monsters. The experience will include photo ops that include the franchise’s newest Minions, James and Henry. New menu items will be at the Minion Cafe, including Irene’s Creamsicle Cheesecake Fold Over and Monster Marshmallow Lemonade. New Minions & Monsters merch is also available, including a blind box featuring collectable figures and a shoulder pal of new character, Goomi.

Entertainment will be at the forefront of Universal’s summertime experiences, including the Universal Mega Movie Parade in Universal Studios Florida, which features floats from classics like E.T., Jaws, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Minions, Sing, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda. The parade featuring over a dozen floats and a hundred performers will take you back to some of your favourite film moments.

Universal Studios Florida will also host CineSational, a nighttime lagoon show that will take you through the sights and sounds of many of the films we have mentioned and more, promising a colourful, sentimental end to your Universal day. Over at Universal Islands of Adventure, you can celebrate the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hogwarts Always, featuring classic moments in a year at Hogwarts projected against Hogwarts Castle.

Universal Hotels will feature 11 statues across their various locations dedicated to some of Universal’s most popular characters and moments in film history. Guests looking to visit Universal this summer can take advantage of special deals including a 2-day ticket for the price of one for Florida residents and a 5-day ticket for the price of 3 for U.S., Canadian and Latin American Residents, with Seasonal Passholders able to save up to 30% at select hotels.
